John Rader has more than 30 years of business development, marketing and public relations experience. For the past 20 years, he has been responsible for Barstow Community Hospital’s (BCH) business development, marketing and public relations. For seven of those years, he concurrently worked as the City of Barstow’s Public Information Officer (2002 – 2009).
Prior to his work at BCH, John was the Vice President of Marketing for the American Council on Exercise in San Diego and was the Marketing Director for the Specialty Equipment Market Association (the SEMA Show, annual automotive aftermarket trade show in Las Vegas) for 8 years.
John was recently recognized as the top fundraiser in the American Cancer Society’s inaugural “Real Men Wear Pink of the High Desert” campaign. In 2010, John was named “Barstow Man of the Year” through the annual Community Recognition Awards and Barstow Rotary Club Member of the Year in 2005.
John graduated with a BA in English from California State University, Long Beach. He has three girls and two boys all in college or recently graduated from college.
